Social landlord Lincolnshire Housing Partnership (LHP) is delivering major energy efficiency upgrades through its ECO4 programme, improving hundreds of homes across Lincolnshire.

The improvements, including cavity wall and loft insulation as well as solar panel installations, align with LHP’s commitment to achieving an energy performance certificate (EPC) rating of C or above in all homes by 2030.

Energy Company Obligation (ECO4) is a government energy-efficiency scheme designed to tackle fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions. Through ECO4 funding and collaboration with Eco Funding for Homes, LHP has so far completed over 200 energy-saving installations.

The upgrades target properties with the highest need for efficiency improvements, helping families save on energy bills while contributing to a more sustainable future. Initial estimates suggest some households could see reductions of up to 20% in their energy costs, depending on seasonal variations.

LHP Chief Executive Ceri Theobald said, “Our ECO4 programme is a cornerstone of our strategy to create greener, healthier communities.

“These projects are already making a difference, not only by helping to reduce carbon emissions but by delivering real financial benefits for our customers. The work supports our commitment to futureproof homes and is a huge step toward achieving a more sustainable housing stock.”

Emily, an LHP resident who recently had solar panels installed, said: “I’m so grateful for all the support from everyone at LHP. There were a few hurdles during the process, but the team kept me informed and supported me every step of the way.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing lower energy bills, it will make a huge difference to me with prices as high as they are.”

LHP’s ECO4 work is a key part of its Environmental, Social, and Governance framework, with a focus on ‘Greener Spaces’ and ‘Vibrant Places’ that contribute to healthier, more energy-efficient communities.

The housing provider says it will continue these efforts as it works toward its 2030 energy efficiency targets, ensuring Lincolnshire families benefit from homes that are warmer, greener, and more affordable.
