Representatives from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and HQN will deliver a webinar aimed at social housing providers to provide an introduction to its new Accessibility Handbook document on 30 April.

MHCLG created the handbook to support people living in social housing who have additional support requirements and provides housing officers with practical tools and advice to help residents through the social housing complaints process, when they have issues with their homes that need resolving.

The handbook covers some general principles which can be applied to all interactions with residents, as well as going into more detail on what can be done to support those with specific accessibility requirements.

The webinar – which will be run by communications representatives from MHCLG, 23red (the marketing agency who created the Handbook) and HQN – will outline what the handbook is and how social housing providers can incorporate it into their interactions with tenants. If you would like to ask any questions for the team to answer during the session, you can do so here.

The session will take place from 3-4pm on 30 April. You can find the Zoom link here.
