Bringing together housing professionals responsible for rent setting and rent compliance, the aim of the forum is to provide a safe place for those responsible for rent compliance to share their experiences with their peers – to ask questions, share lessons learned and discuss best practice.

The third virtual forum will be chaired by Emma Turay, Assistant Director of Rents & Service Charges at Notting Hill Genesis. Full agenda to be confirmed.

    Topics for discussion:

    • What approach did you take in 2023/24? What were the key highlights/concerns?
    • What lessons will you incorporate in your 24/25 strategy and why?
    • How will you approach Board approval in considering levying different increase levels for various factors (ie, different rent types/ property sizes/ geographical area)? How was this analysis undertaken?
    • Are there any key improvements you will seek to drive on behalf of residents (ie, comms, consultation etc?)
    • How do we balance business financial viability with resident affordability? How can affordability be measured/ demonstrated?
    • Are you modelling different increase levels in light of a potential rent cap being applied in 2024/25?

    We will also share:

    • Areas of excellence since the last forum
    • Key challenges/concerns
    • Anything transformational activities providers are considering or currently doing
    • What should we cover at the Autumn Rent Compliance conference?
