Staffordshire-based housing and support provider Honeycomb Group has welcomed two new recruits to its board member team, who will play a role in setting strategic direction and supporting teams in the delivery of Thriving Futures, the group’s new corporate plan.

Experienced senior consultant and director Tim Edwards has extensive experience of high-profile appointments in the public and private sectors, including Stoke-on-Trent City Council and PM Training. He has also held roles within the third sector, maximising the social impact of programmes and supporting the growth of social businesses.

Meanwhile, Tony Muir is a chartered surveyor with over 30 years’ experience in property asset management across the public, private and social housing sectors. He has also held roles operating at board and executive management level for over ten years and currently runs his own consultancy providing asset management expertise to local authorities and housing providers.

Following the corporate plan launch in July, which will see an annual property investment of £3.7 million, Tony’s property experience will bring additional support to Honeycomb Group teams.

He said: “It really is an exciting time for Honeycomb Group. It has been wonderful meeting the Housing and Property teams, and seeing their excitement and commitment to the Thriving Futures plan.

“I am delighted to be joining the Group to support them in the development of more happy homes across Staffordshire and neighbouring regions.”

Both Tim and Tony joined the group’s corporate plan launch event in July, where they met colleagues, volunteers and customers from across the Group.

Following the event, Tim said: “It was fantastic to join the Corporate Plan event and see first-hand the impact Honeycomb Group services are having on local people and places. Being a Newcastle-under-Lyme resident myself, it was the community focused support services that attracted me to the Group and I hope to play a part in their growth and development.”

Honeycomb Group Chief Executive Julie Guildford said: “Tim and Tony have a huge breadth of knowledge, which will further strengthen our board and bring a wider diversity of sector experience to the team.

“Their commitment to local places and people is easy to see, and all at Honeycomb Group are delighted to be welcoming them at such an exciting time on our Thriving Futures journey.”
