A leading property management software company has announced the launch of its new voids management solution. Voids have a detrimental impact on families across the UK as they are forced to wait for extended periods before getting the keys to their new home.

In March 2021, People in Housing Need reported that UK local housing authorities shared a combined wait list of 1.19 million households. The 2023 Goodlord Rental Index found that social housing lets were vacant for an average of 23 days in January this year, with some major voids lasting over 100 days. Coupled with the demand for families needing a home skyrocketing, up 4% on 2019/20 figures as per Social Housing Lettings 20/21 report, the timeliness in which a property can be occupiable is a pressing issue.

The new end-to-end voids management system from Plentific allows users to configure templates, customise their voids procedures, leverage built-in inspections, find approved contractors and manage all ongoing voids through a single, real-time dashboard.

Cem Savas, CEO and co-founder of Plentific said: “At Plentific, we are passionate about new innovations that have a real impact on communities across the globe. The introduction of our voids management solution directly addresses a pressing challenge in the sector and enables us to improve the lives of tenants as they occupy their homes earlier than previously possible”.

A pilot of the new system showed that leading UK landlords have seen up to a 54% reduction in void time maintenance and a 3.5% per annum increase in rental income.
