Housing association A2Dominion’s Tenancy Sustainment Team has helped 2,245 customers claim £9.7 million in support, including through grants and benefits, in 2023/24.

With the rising cost of living putting more pressure on finances, the social landlord has seen referrals for help with money management increase by 44% in the past 12 months.

A2Dominion says its tenancy sustainment officers have in-depth knowledge of local and central grants and benefits, including universal credit, and also have strong relationships with local authorities and charities to ensure customers have access to the relevant schemes.

The team achieved a 100% success rate at benefit tribunals, resulting in backdated benefit payments, totalling over £42,000. They also provided access to grants and charitable funding worth more than £104,000, including for essential furniture and white goods.

Richard Bampton, A2Dominion’s Head of Income, said: “The past year has been particularly challenging for many of our customers due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. Our Tenancy Sustainment Team will continue to provide support to those who are struggling with their finances and help them to live in a secure home.”
