A member is reviewing their capped gas policy after hoarding or other issues have made carrying out LGSR checks difficult. In some cases the tenant has also felt forced to cap the gas because of financial hardship.

They are now trying to design a policy statement around this topic that balances their duty to provide an adequate and safe means of heating the home, their safeguarding duty, and the tenant’s choice to heat their home in the way that they think they can afford.
