    We are seeking for a Surveyor with an excellent background in M&E to join our Growth, Development and Assets division on a permanent basis, where you’ll have a crucial part in shaping the future of our housing projects. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects within the programme, including the effective planning, design, mobilisation, and delivery of works / targets centred around traditional gas central heating, and modern, low carbon heating systems.

    As our Project Surveyor (M&E), you will be conducting thorough site surveys, continuously applying your expertise to solve challenges and provide innovative solutions. Always ensuring that our customers have confidence in the process of identifying risk and investment opportunities in their homes, you will also provide the business with the required data to efficiently and effectively manage its c.£3b worth of assets.

    What you’ll be doing

      • Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects within the programme, including the effective planning, design, mobilisation and delivery of works / targets.
      • Monitoring of programmes, resolution of challenges and business reporting (including budgets & performance).
      • Ensure health & safety requirements are managed and met – including compliance with statutory obligations, CDM Regs and Longhursts policies and procedures.
      • Undertake site inspections to ensure Longhurst and our customers expectations are met.
      • Collaborate as part of the team to ensure quality specifications and procurement of contractors.
      • Manage stakeholders and customer enquiries effectively.
      • Effectively communicate with residents and stakeholders.


    This is a full time, permanent role that is contracted to 36.25 hours per week. Working across our geography (Midlands and East of England) or attending meetings or training as required at one of our offices (Boston, Rushden, Walsall and Peterborough) you will support the team, our colleagues, and our customers. As a hybrid role you will also be able to perform some of the duties of this role from home.
