We are looking for an Environmental Services Operative (1 post) to join our Commercial Services team in Greater Manchester.
The Environmental Services Operative will operate as part of a multi-disciplinary mobile team to provide a professional and customer focused environmental, health & safety and quality cleaning service for the Brunswick PFI neighbourhood.You will ensure the tidy appearance of neighbourhoods, including gated alleyways, by removing rubbish from fly tipping incidents, removing ‘spot’ graffiti, litter picking, removing ‘sharps’/ hazardous material and spot cleaning. You will deliver excellent cleanliness in schemes / communal areas by cleaning to agreed PFI standards / schedules.
You will undertake scheme maintenance duties including: Jet washing of communal areas – hard landscaping and external walkways; Minor joinery works e.g. fitting noticeboards and signs; Cleaning light fittings in communal areas; Winter gritting services; Assisting in horticultural planting schemes.
Working within the Brunswick neighbourhood, you will be visible to customers, offering assurance to customers by checking security, reporting defects in communal areas, taking action or reporting back as needed on a daily basis and also at weekends on a rotational basis.
You will promote a safe environment by regularly testing lift alarms and reporting issues as necessary and ensure necessary management of communal paladin bins, ensuring timely rotation and regular clearing of communal waste chutes, and ongoing good communication with the Council’s waste collection partner.
To be successful you should hold a full UK driving licence.
The role will involve participation in an out of hours service as required on a rota basis at the weekend. This will usually include a couple of hours with flexible timings for you to choose from to work around any weekend plans. This is in addition to the contractual hours and additional compensation is provided.
This role is predominately based in our Neighbourhoods and you will attend the office as and when required.
