    We are looking for a Development Solicitor (1 post) to join our Legal Team.

    The Development Solicitor will deliver high quality and informed professional in-house legal advice and representation services to the Onward Group, on a wide variety of development law matters. They will ensure that all development law matters are managed and dealt with in an efficient and effective manner as appropriat e to the requirements of the organisation.

    The role will require management of a case load of routine, complex and potentially sensitive legal instructions including contentious and non-contentious matters and advice on development and asset -related matters. You’ll be required to maintain a working knowledge of all relevant law and practice which affects the organisation’s development activities including dealing with land acquisitions, property development agreements, s.106 and s.38 Agreements, Utility Easements, Collateral Warranties.

    Additionally, you will provide, procure and manage specialist and responsive legal and procedural advice on a wide variety of non-contentious and contentious development matters, to the organisation, colleagues and members as appropriate and directed to ensure the organisation acts within its common law, statutory, regulatory and constitutional obligations. You will be the ‘go to’ person on all development law matters.

    T he successful candidate will be an Admitted Solicitor or Legal Executive, and have a current Practising Certificate. You will have experience of supplying expert legal advice and representation related to housing development within the social housing sector, and strong awareness of property and commercial law issues that affect development.

This role is home based and there is no requirement to attend the office daily, but you will be required to attend neighbourhoods and/or sites as required to fulfil duties of the role.
