• Job description

    We are looking for an Apprentice Data Protection Administrator – (1 post) to join our Governance and Assurance team.

    This role is home based role, where there is no daily requirement to attend an office with the flexibility to attend as required.

    You will provide advice and support to colleagues, by responding to basic queries and helping to promote compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act across the business. You will also assist the Data Protection Specialist to respond to incidents and provide responses to Subject Access Requests within legislative timescales by co-ordinating internal data gathering. You will investigate data protection incidents and liaise with colleagues and third parties to ensure that appropriate actions/learnings are identified and implemented maintaining records relating to incidents to support reporting.

    You will also undertake data quality checks to provide assurance that the data we hold complies with UK GDPR and Onward retention policies and support the Data Protection Specialist on key projects which seek to embed data protection compliance within our business.

    What are we looking for?

    We are looking for people who are enthusiastic and willing to learning and who have a desire to working in a data protection role. To be successful in this role you will need to be a confident user of IT packages. You will need excellent communication and analytical skills in order to deliver a high quality service and you will have Level 2 (GSCE C or above) in English and Maths.

    Over an 18 month period, you will complete a course of study and be working towards a Level 4 Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner Apprenticeship with the training provider Damar Training/Act Now
