With the growing number of vulnerable applicants seeking social housing and the upcoming removal of starter tenancies under the Renter’s Rights Bill, allocations and lettings teams face increasing pressure to make well-informed decisions. It’s now more critical than ever to ensure tenants are matched with the right homes and the right support from the outset.

However, over-stretched social services are struggling to meet rising demand. Some people – particularly those with a history of homelessness, who may have been moved around in temporary accommodation – are left without the care and support they need. This gap often leaves housing professionals with little or no information about the needs of people on the waiting list or being referred to them. Tenants take up their tenancies only to fail quickly when the lack of support leads to rent arrears, antisocial behaviour or neglect of themselves and the property.

This session focuses on the essential information that must be shared and requested during the allocations process to ensure the long-term success of tenancies. It’s something allocations and lettings teams should insist on.

Join HQN expert Mel Cant for this informative and practical breakfast session.

Whether you’re new to your role or looking to strengthen your inter-agency working, this session will give you the knowledge and confidence to advocate for the right support – and the right tenancy – at the right time.
