Suitable for: All What does this mean?
The DWP announced that Managed Migration restarted on 9 May 2022, and is currently piloting in six areas across the UK, to proactively move those 2.6 million claimants still on legacy benefits, across to Universal Credit.
This is a mandatory process.
Furthermore, nearly 885,000 of those are identified as vulnerable and on ESA for a primary condition of mental health problems, but tens of thousands more will also be experiencing mental ill-health.
The high levels of vulnerability among social housing tenants, mean we have grave concerns about the risks posed to people with mental health problems. In the worst-case scenario, people with mental health problems may fail to successfully make the move to UC and lose the vital lifeline of their benefit income altogether.
Find out about the process in this workshop.
The session covers:
- Mandatory Managed Migration process
- Migration Notification Letter
- Time requirements to apply
- Transitional Protection (TP) & how it can be lost
- How UC rules will be modified for some claimants
- What organisations should consider for tenants making the move to UC.
