Meeting the needs of domestic abuse victims from a social housing provider perspective – updated for the Social Housing White Paper

Reducing or eliminating domestic abuse starts by increasing awareness and improving practice across all sectors. Training frontline staff to systematically enquire, identify and respond to domestic abuse significantly helps in increasing early identification.

Awareness of domestic abuse is a critical element of the safeguarding responsibilities across the social housing sector. Most providers already recognise their duty of care to raise awareness, recognise indicators, record accurately, refer to appropriate agencies and report suspicion and disclosure of concerns to protect individuals from harm, prevent risk and promote welfare.

The Social Housing White Paper reinforces this and highlighted the important role landlords place in ending domestic abuse.

This interactive training course is designed to assist professionals to understand domestic abuse, consider your own approach and address the issues and challenges that you face when dealing with those clients who are experiencing domestic abuse.
