The Social Housing White Paper introduced a range of new tenant satisfaction measures which government consulted on earlier this year. Later this Summer government intends to publish the consultation responses and the new Tenant Satisfaction Measures Standard and requirements. This best practice forum will be a timely opportunity to look at the new proposals and discuss what they mean in practice.

Ahead of the consultation outcome, the proposed satisfaction measures related to “keeping properties in good repair” were:

  • Homes that do not meet the Decent Homes Standard
  • Repairs completed within target timescale
  • Satisfaction with repairs
  • Satisfaction with time taken to complete most recent repair.

It is unlikely that these measures will change significantly, but by September we will have the outcome of the consultation, the final measures and the actual requirements. This will give us a great opportunity to discuss them in detail, understand what information we will need to collect and be clear about the implications of poor performance.
