Our package of training and consultancy has been created to support housing providers understand and implement the requirements set out in the Competence and Conduct Standard which was introduced in the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023. Once implemented, the Regulator of Social Housing will require you to evidence what measures you have put in place to meet the standard and how you are embedding professional knowledge, skills and behaviour throughout your resident-facing staff.

Our offer is multi-faceted and covers:

 

Professionalism workshops – aimed at all frontline staff (both new and established) to explore and embed the expected professional attitudes and behaviours.

Our workshops can be stand-alone, but we recommend that staff undertake all six modules as part of a holistic professionalism programme. This can either be done through our open cohorts or delivered as a package in-house.  

The topics covered over the course of approximately six months include:

  • Module one: Professionalism
  • Module two: Ethics and ethical decision making
  • Module three: Equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Module four: Stigma and stereotyping
  • Module five: Knowledge and skills
  • Module six: Making a difference.

Our tailored training includes sessions on:

  • How to conduct knowledge and skills audits/training needs assessment
  • How to develop a fit-for-purpose code of conduct/professional behaviour
  • Developing effective appraisal processes
  • How to develop a competency/behavioural framework
  • How to conduct a meaningful appraisal/manage poor performance
  • How to manage and develop talent.

Consultancy services – this is aimed supporting learning and development/ HR professionals to put in place the practical requirements set out in the Competency and Conduct Standard.

Building on our training offer, we can offer in-house support to:

  • Carry out your training needs assessment
  • Audit/develop your code of conduct/professional behaviour
  • Review your current appraisal processes
