Bromford has become the latest landlord to be targeted by an attempted cyber-attack.

The Midlands-based housing association said it shut down all its technology after hackers had tried to breach its systems.

It has shut down some of its services, including the system residents use to book appointment, and is urging people to only contact them in case of emergency via the main switchboard.

Bromford is amongst a number of landlords to be targeted in high profile attacks in recent months.

In the latest Innovation and Technology Hub best practice group members identified cybercrime as the biggest risk facing housing providers.

HQN is hosting a cyberattacks masterclass later in the year to help landlords understand the threats they face and keep networks safe.
