Gender pay gap toolkit – ‘mind the gap’

This toolkit aims to help registered social landlords work through the process of analysing and reporting on their gender pay gap and produce a practical action plan to close it.

The gender pay gap regulations were introduced in 2017. They require public, private and voluntary sector organisations with 250 or more employees to report annually on their gender pay gap (GPG), using six different measures.

The GPG is about the average pay of men and women across the whole organisation. It is the difference in average gross hourly earnings between women and men. It is based on salaries paid directly to employees before income tax and social security contributions are deducted. The GPG is distinct from equal pay, which is about women and men being paid the same for jobs of equal value.
