Housing providers are being asked if they can help their residents, and neighbourhood nature, to thrive.

The National Trust has today launched the nationwide rollout of its Sky Gardening Challenge – a campaign, support package and competition that encourages people in flats and apartments to green their balconies and window boxes, for nature and their own wellbeing.

The challenge can help residents feel more connected to nature, boost wellbeing, learn new skills and build pride in their community.

Residents who sign up will receive:

  • Free seeds, posted to their home
  • A new ‘Growing guide for small spaces’
  • Inspiration and tips via a regular newsletter
  • Information about the competition launching in June
  • Access to online and in-person guidance.

The National Trust says that housing providers can play a key role in the challenge’s success by promoting this opportunity it to their residents, with the trust inviting landlords to register for its ready-to-use partner communications pack.

Sign up to receive the communications pack by completing this form before 1 June or visit here for more information about the project.
