Our June forum is an opportunity to reflect with colleagues on the annual rent increase, what worked and what didn’t and what you have done to help affordability as the cost-of-living crisis continues to bite.

We will discuss the impact of the Spring Statement and the proposed benefit cuts as well as looking forward to the Spending Review and promised long term rent strategy.

The forum will be chaired by Emma Turay, Assistant Director of Regulation and Policy at Notting Hill Genesis.

    Topics for discussion:

    • Reflection on what we learnt at the annual conference in November 2024
    • Rent consultations – what went well, what didn’t, one thing to improve
    • Financial capability and affordability
    • What information do you collect?
    • Is this information used to inform rent decisions?
    • Do you measure outcomes after a rent increase (eg the take up of benefits or support, levels of rent arrears, numbers of notices and/or evictions)?
    • The Spring Statement
    • The Spending Review
    • The government’s long term rent strategy.

    Why you should attend:

    • Keep up to date on new and emerging government policy
    • Share and learn from colleagues on good practice in the sector on rent compliance
    • Connect with colleagues across the country to build your professional network.
