It promises to be a busy 2025 for the Housing Management Network with a wealth of new briefings, toolkits, case studies, podcasts and best practice groups to help you  navigate the current social housing landscape.

Below is a rundown of the network’s key resources and events for the first few months of the year. As always, any feedback and ideas are very much appreciated. Please email [email protected] with your suggestions.

January to March:

April to June:

  • A workshop on The Neighbourhood and Community Standard on 3 April
  • A free legal surgery with our partners at Birketts on tenant and landlord issues on 16 April
  • A best practice group on 25 April and have plans to look at how housing management teams are struggling to gain access to properties.
  • Mental health awareness month in May: we are planning work around what housing providers are doing to support their staff and tenants through mental health struggles
  • A workshop on The Tenancy Standard on 15 May
  • Hoarding awareness week 13 – 17 May: We would love to know what resources you would find interesting on hoarding
  • We plan to commission content on dealing with vulnerabilities in housing management, identifying good practice and sharing practical advice

July to September:

  • We will continue the theme of vulnerabilities by doing a best practice group looking at cuckooing, on 4 July.

We will also be commissioning content and hosting events on:

  • Neighbourhood management
  • ASB

We will continue to update our plans, reacting to emerging issues and new government policies throughout the year so keep an eye on the newsletters and the website.
