The DWP are wanting to restrict the data on our internal housing benefit systems to only those who can demonstrate they have a legal gateway to use the information.  I am struggling to provide such information to enable the Rents Team to retain access to information on our Housing Benefit system, as the DWP wont accept that the requirements of Pre-action Protocol are sufficient to prove that we need access to tenants’ HB and UC information.

Do you know if other organisations have had similar issues with this, and if so how have they demonstrated that they have a legal gateway to continue to access information?
