What does good practice in EDI look like in the housing sector? How can you measure it? And what do we as organisations need to do to improve?

Join us for this workshop, where we will be showcasing the all-new RACE Code x Diversity Network Assessment Quality Mark- a joint endeavour between RSM UK and Housing Diversity Network which provides a comprehensive, sector-specific assessment of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in housing organisations.  Covering governance, workforce, customers and communities, the joint Quality Mark combines RSM’s expertise in EDI- particularly their specialisation in race equality and governance- with HDN’s specialist knowledge of EDI in a housing-specific context.

During the session we will be looking at what the benchmarking data from our free Inclusion Support Questionnaire (ISQ) says about the current state of the sector, as well as some best practice case studies across areas relating to governance, people, and customers- touching upon some of the key issues faced by the sector, including:

    • Improving the diversity of boards
    • Cultivating a workplace culture which is psychologically safe
    • Diversifying customer engagement
    • Promoting collective responsibility for EDI across whole organisations.

    The Inclusion Support Questionnaire:

The ISQ is designed to look at where you currently stand in your equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) journey, and will provide your organisation with valuable thinking prompts relating to how EDI is embedded. We will use the data collected to provide baseline statistical and benchmarking EDI data from organisations across a variety of sectors, allowing us to get both a comprehensive picture of where the housing sector is – at a level of detail that hasn’t previously been visible – and to compare this with other sectors.

The ISQ consists of 50 yes/no questions, with a handful of narrative questions to gain insights to better support organisations and identify sector specific challenges and trends. The questionnaire will take approximately 30 minutes to complete. The ISQ can be completed by an EDI Lead, the People Officer, or a Governance Lead, for example, with support from other colleagues.

**Please coordinate with colleagues ensure only one ISQ is submitted per organisation.**

We’d welcome your input into the survey. Please complete the survey here: Inclusion Support Questionnaire
