In 2010, HQN produced a toolkit to help registered providers embed equality, diversity and inclusion into their day-to-day work. The toolkit was drawn up in response to questions from HQN’s members, including:

• How do you emphasise the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion?
• How do you get staff and board members to keep equality, diversity and inclusion in the forefront of their minds?
• How do you maintain enthusiasm for promoting equality, diversity and inclusion?

We updated the toolkit in 2013 and again in 2016, noting the changing context in which registered providers were then operating, particularly the changes to the welfare benefits system. Since 2016, of course, the operating context of social housing providers has changed enormously.
