Many councils and their housing association partners are in the process of reviewing their allocation systems for multiple reasons. Updating an allocations policy to take account of new and forthcoming guidance (eg tackling domestic abuse and the proposed consumer standards) is a prime driver. They also include the impact of the homelessness reduction legislation/temporary accommodation, refugee resettlement programmes, trends in lettings, and meeting the needs of vulnerable households.

    This workshop will focus on:

    • Updating versus fundamentally changing allocations policies
    • Stakeholder engagement and formal statutory consultation requirements
