Providing safe, good-quality homes is a fundamental responsibility for social landlords. With strengthened legislation, increased regulatory scrutiny and growing expectations around resident safety, housing professionals must understand their responsibilities. This practical course explores the key legal and regulatory requirements and what they mean for housing providers, staff and residents.

The Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023 and Building Safety Act 2022 have significantly strengthened the expectations placed on social landlords to provide safe, well-maintained homes and demonstrate effective management of risks.

Alongside the Regulator of Social Housing’s Safety and Quality Standard, these requirements reinforce the importance of understanding property conditions, maintaining effective compliance arrangements, responding promptly to safety concerns and ensuring clear accountability across organisations.
