The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Network is pleased to announce its latest best practice group on exploring the business case for Equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI).
Often EDI is seen as something that organisations are forced to do because of the law or, more positively, that they do because of their values.
Whilst these can be good reason for improving EDI practice, actually improving EDI because it makes good business sense can be the best motivator of all, as seen in some private sector organisations who are good models of EDI. It can also help to persuade people to integrate EDI with other business activities and strategies, rather than seeing it as an optional add-on.
The BPG will explore the business case, and what the implications are of using it.

- Sharing best practice and ideas with others in similar roles
- Acts as a sense-check about what people are doing or thinking of doing.
We also want to hear from members about what is challenging you currently and what your priorities are. Have you any initiatives you are particularly proud of? Please let us know in advance of any subjects you’d like to discuss.

Our facilitator
Colin Heyman has worked as a trainer, consultant and coach in equality and diversity for over 20 years, and has worked with small companies, large public sector organisations and third sector organisations, including housing associations. Colin is the Lead Consultant for the HQN Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Network. Amongst other things, Colin specialises in supporting a network of diversity champions to be change agents and bring about change within their organisation, and in work on white privilege and allyship. Through his work, Colin hopes to bring about improved practice in equality and diversity, help people to realise that equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) permeates most of what we do, get the issues discussed and enable people to feel comfortable about debating these important issues.
