    Your new role

    We’re looking for a qualified legal adviser to undertake the role of Housing Lawyer within our Legal and Compliance team.

    You’ll be a high-achieving individual, capable of managing your own caseload and making decisions to support our day to day operations. It is essential for you to be a qualified housing solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with at least 3 years Post Qualification Experience as you’ll be providing advice and interpreting legal issues in relation to the housing sector and be recognised as a specialist in this area of legal practice.

    We are looking for someone who is confident, with sound judgement and who is able to work autonomously and as part of a team.

    Excellent communication skills and having a sound knowledge of the regulatory framework and regulatory requirements are important as you’ll provide workshops/training sessions on legal issues.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is self-motivated and looking for a new challenge to work in a varied role. Working alongside and supporting the Head of Legal you’ll lead the housing management practice, working on complex housing related matters, including but not limited to, anti-social behaviour, housing management, disrepair, leasehold management and income management.

    The role is at the heart of the business, offering advice and guidance in a hardworking and fast-paced environment.

    Requirements

      • Qualified housing solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive
      • Expert level experience of providing advice and interpretation of legal issues in relation to the housing sector and recognised as a specialist in this area of legal practice.
      • Strong and effective interpersonal skills, including teamwork, networking and negotiation skills with the ability to positively motivate all stakeholders, whilst building trusted relationships.
      • Good sound knowledge of the regulatory framework and regulatory requirements.
      • Experience of having worked as an in-house lawyer (desirable).
      • Competent understanding of digital applications and IT systems.
      • A clear and competent communicator.
      • A confident and engaging trainer able to provide workshops/training sessions on legal issues.
      • Full driving licence and access to own transport, or ability to travel in a timely and efficient manner to attend meetings in other offices that may not easily accessed by public transport.
