More and more young people, (under 25’s), are being diagnosed with some form of neurodiversity (a blanket term for people who have conditions that include autism and ADHD amongst others) or mental illness. With services over stretched many young people may be waiting a long time for a diagnosis.

When a young person is neurodiverse or mentally ill it impacts on the whole family. Many young people may still be living at home and this may cause challenges for their parents and a have possible knock on effect from a housing perspective.

Some young people may have their own tenancies and may have challenges managing those tenancies. Some may be vulnerable to cuckooing or abuse or have dual diagnosis.
