This sexual harassment in the workplace course will introduce staff to different forms of sexual harassment and explore the impact of sexual harassment in the workplace.

It will also examine different examples of sexual harassment in workplace settings, learning how to identify, prevent and process cases of sexual harassment in the workplace and look at relevant legislation and policies in the UK which involve how to make complaints about sexual harassment, and the legal duties of employers.

The course will focus on how to create a positive workplace culture and reduce the risk of sexual harassment, and how to support staff who have been sexually harassed.

    • Introduction to Sexual Harassment — explore why it is important to understand how to spot and prevent sexual harassment within a workplace setting, as well as the physical, mental emotional and financial impacts of sexual harassment
    • Exploring how to dispel common stereotypes concerning sexual harassment in the workplace
    • Different behaviours that are classed as sexual harassment and the different environments in which they could occur
    • Examples of sexual harassment in the workplace
    • Legislation, guidance, policies and procedures that are relevant to sexual harassment in the workplace
    • Guidance on the legal, ethical duties and requirements of companies and organisations.
    • Examine the importance of positive cultures in the workplace and how this can contribute to a safer working environment
    • Raising awareness of sexual harassment in the workplace
    • How to support yourself or someone else who has been sexually harassed.
  • Our trainer

    Tahira Hussain has extensive experience working in the statutory and voluntary sector. She has a 19-year career in social work, mental health, community development, charity and the housing sector. She has a successful track record in consultancy, training and project management. Tahira Qualified as a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist and she is a member of the BABCP and BPS.

    Working as a training associate for national agencies she has utilised her experience in the housing, health and care sector and delivered a menu of training packages aimed to support staff, stakeholders and residents on a range of topics including mental health, Our Director awareness, mental health and wellbeing, safeguarding children & adults, equality and diversity, stress management, managing depression, effective psychological intervention and developing self-esteem. Tahira is also an approved therapist to support wellbeing and awareness of mental health through training and CBT therapies.
