We are looking for a customer-oriented Technical Support Engineer to join our IT Infrastructure Services team. You will be responsible for supporting, upgrading and implementing the IT infrastructure which supports the major business functions and activities of Stevenage Borough Council and organisations it has partnered with to provide IT Services.
Using strong problem-solving skills and ITIL best practice, the team respond to and resolve problems and incidents where the IT infrastructure is not functioning as designed and is impacting the day to day operations of the organisation and its partners. The team carry out regular proactive maintenance of IT infrastructure components and are responsible for implementing new technologies to assist Stevenage Borough Council and East Herts Council deliver their digital transformation corporate plans.
The successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours between 8 am – 5 pm Monday to Friday. Working from a base of Daneshill House in Stevenage, they will also be expected to travel to and work from any of the sites supported by the service across Stevenage and East Herts.
