Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Information Systems Manager to join our expanding ICT team, supplying ICT services to Stevenage and East Herts councils as a shared service.

This is an excellent time to join the council ICT service, as we are looking to make considerable changes to our ICT and Digital provision. The ICT department has a wide ranging plan for improvement of the ICT service and to meet the challenging digital agenda of both councils in support of their ambitious corporate plans.

Any successful applicant would have a major role to play in the creation and successful application of those plans.

As the primary technical expert in relation to Information Systems Management, the post holder is responsible for how the partner organisations apply information technology to support their major business functions and activities. We are looking for someone with a passion for ICT with significant expertise in systems analysis techniques, development tools, information architecture, security and governance, databases, systems integration and financial planning.
You will be responsible for supporting both councils’ ICT information system and choosing, advising and assisting in the implementation of new systems. This will involve assurance/quality control, information management, business engagement, financial tracking, and change control on all the departments’ projects.

Managing a team of five information support analysts, a team we are looking to increase, you will engage with the councils’ departments to ensure excellent service delivery and delivery of new programmes with an ICT component.

Reporting directly to the ICT Strategic Partnership Manager, you will be a key member of the ICT management team, shaping and directing the councils’ future ICT strategy.

The ICT department is a shared service between Stevenage Borough Council and East Herts District Council and projects may span both councils. You would be expected to manage the expectations of both organisations and build constructive working relationships across both councils.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours between 8am – 6pm Monday to Friday. Working from a base at Daneshill House in Stevenage, they will also be expected to occasionally travel to and work from any of the sites supported by the service across Stevenage and East Herts.

  • Pay: £43,757 - £45,646 Annually
