Are you passionate about procurement?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Officer to support the procurement and contract management activities across the Association.

With strong transferable skills you will be responsible for the day-to-day support and administration of the procurement function with instruction and advice from the Head of Procurement and Contract Management.

Proactive in your approach you will have good data management capabilities and an interest in procurement. You will also have experience of undertaking reporting and investigating contracts as well as an interest in contract management.

This is a new role in a new department and will be instrumental in helping Estuary to undergo a step change in its management of procurement and contract management activities.

Your key accountabilities will include:

Undertaking market research, price benchmarking and other due diligence activities on suppliers prior to tendering.

Administering the electronic Contract Management database, including uploading, updating and removing contracts, ensuring supplier contact details and other relevant documents are up to date, setting contract expiry and management alerts, creating and issuing reports.

Analysing spend data and creating reports. Obtaining supplier performance data and producing supplier performance reports for internal clients.

Carrying out regular risk management activities around key services and suppliers.

Administer the quotation / tendering process for internal clients when required including setting up documents on the e-procurement portal, collating supplier questions, distributing bids, collating evaluation scores, issuing award letters, administering the signature of contracts.


Ideally you will have:

Good standard General Education to GCSE level or equivalent

Demonstrable administration experience

Experience of undertaking reporting

Excellent customer service and relationship building skills

Strong analytical problem solving abilities

Level 3 qualified member of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) or a willingness to study towards the qualification.

Flexible working at home and in the office is required.
