An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Community Development team for a Neighbourhood Warden to join us with a specific geographical focus on Stevenage Town Centre.

You will play a key role in the improvement of residents’ quality of life in Stevenage and will contribute to developing a co-operative, sustainable and more socially cohesive community. As our town centre warden, you will contribute towards planned and targeted approaches to ensure residents, businesses and visitors have a great experience in our town, working in partnership with a range of internal and external partners to achieve success.

You will also carry the lead responsibility for our ‘resident inspectors’ work, ensuring local residents access to inspection responsibilities in a range of areas

Candidate Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have been educated to a good standard including GCSE’s C grade or above, and have proven experience of working within local communities, preferably in a role with community engagement responsibilities.

You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, deal calmly and confidently with emotional situations and have the ability to understand the needs and perceptions of residents.

A full UK driving licence (with access to own vehicle) is desirable.
