We’re looking for a cook to join Leyland Court, a sheltered service for 24 elderly residents in central Southend. The key purpose of this busy role is to provide a high-quality, nutritious lunchtime meal to the people who live at Leyland Court.
Working in conjunction with the service’s project worker, the cook will be responsible for providing nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring that individual choice and dietary requirements are catered for and an excellent standard of health, safety and cleanliness is upheld at all times.
The successful candidate will possess previous experience in a cooking or catering role; knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Hygiene and COSHH regulations are also essential. Previous experience within a care home/healthcare setting would be desirable.
You will also need to demonstrate good communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team and a commitment to upholding the rights, privacy and dignity of people with disabilities.
Please note you will be required to work on a rota basis, which will include weekends and bank holidays.
