Can you bring innovative approaches to diversity and inclusion within community development work?
An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Community Development team for a Community Inclusion Officer to join us for a 12 month time limited role exploring new and innovative ways of further developing work with our BME, LGBT+, Disabled, Gender and Age based communities across Stevenage.
You will play a key role in the improvement of resident’s quality of life in Stevenage and will contribute to developing a co-operative, sustainable and more socially cohesive community, through equality mapping work, direct community engagement and imbedding new inclusion based work.
To be successful in this role you will have been educated to a good standard including GCSE’s C grade or above alongside evidence of further and higher education that meets the requirements for the role. You will also have proven experience of working within local communities around diversity, inclusion and equality, preferably in a role with community engagement responsibilities.
You will be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team, deal calmly and confidently with emotional situations and have the ability to understand the needs and perceptions of residents.
A full UK driving licence (with access to own vehicle) is desirable.
All posts are subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Clearance.

- Pay: £25,463 - £28,895 Annually
