The Innovation and Technology Network formally launches

HQN and DTL Creative are delighted to share with the sector the newest network on the block, the Innovation and Technology Network.

Within this network we are set to developing content and organising events focusing on topics that our members want to discuss. It is all about what you want to know more about, and we want to answer the questions that you’ve been meaning to ask for ages, and, for example, provide you with resources to write your next business case to run a pilot using sensor technology!

The network is intended to cater for people of all abilities, roles and backgrounds. Of course, we want to bring together those who are keen and experienced users of (new) technology, and those who are already on the look-out to discover new ways to innovate; to share ideas, best practice, pitfalls and, who knows, collaborate.

One of our key aims for this new network is to extend this existing network of innovative and tech-savvy people.

We want to do so by showing to anyone working in or around the housing sector that innovation isn’t rocket science, and that technology isn’t scary or always out of (financial) reach, that they too have a place at the table and that there are no stupid questions!

Innovation can be found in the smallest bits of frustrations about how certain things are ‘done’ and a desire to see it improved! And as for new technologies to help you make things better; a lot of things are no longer just seen in Star Trek, and already implemented across the world.

As part of the launch, the Network is inviting HQN members (and the wider sector) to an opening event.

The event will be a short introduction where we will not just introduce ourselves and set out what we will be initially delivering, but also hope to hear from you what you expect and need from an Innovation and Technology Network.

This is because we want to organise events on topics that you want to know more about, answer the questions that you’ve been meaning to ask for ages, and, for example, provide you with resources to write your next business case to run a pilot.

These introductory events will take place on:

  • Tuesday 16th February – 10.30am – 11.00am
  • Thursday 18th February – 2.30pm – 3.00pm

Any HQN member looking to join the Innovation and Technology Network can do so by simply getting in contact with the Networks team, who will sign you up for a small £50 admin fee.
