Council signs off £100m housing plan to build over 1,000 homes

Doncaster Council has agreed to work with local housing associations in the area, and build itself, to get more than 1,000 new homes built.

Over 500 will be built through the £100m Council House Building Fund, which they help will attract Homes England to build 100 more.

Another 900 homes are expected to be built by the regions housing associations.

Mayor Jones said: “We’ve taken the needs of our communities into account and ensure we’re building the right type of properties for people, that we deliver for our elderly and others so we get mixed-developments that are cost effective and meet our climate change ambitions.

“We will be going forward with properties which will meet the demands of our residents for years to come.

“We’ve still got a large number of people on our waiting lists and we’re creating the properties that will become homes for our residents.”
