Dr Valerie Vaughan-Dick has been appointed as chair of Wandle. She succeeds Ian Green, who had been Acting Chair since the end of Tom Bremner’s appointment in Autumn 2020.
Dr Vaughan-Dick (PhD) has worked at a senior level in the public, private and voluntary sectors. Valerie is presently the Chief Operating Officer, previously titled the Chief Executive Officer, of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).
Valerie has been a Chair of a NHS Trust, and is presently the Chair of the Woolwich Creative District Trust, a major multi-million-pound regeneration project of the Royal Arsenal area in London, and is also the Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee and a Board Member at Network Homes Housing Association.
Dr Vaughan-Dick said: “Meeting the housing needs of our community has never been more important. It is a privilege to be appointed to this role, for a housing association that serves the South London community I am proud to be a part of. I am looking forward to working with the Board and Executive team, and our partners across the sector, to make a difference to the lives of those who live in our homes.”
Tracey Lees, Chief Executive, said: “The Board and Executive team are delighted to confirm Dr Vaughan-Dick’s appointment. Valerie is committed to the community and making a difference to those we serve. Her significant experience in housing, regulatory and public service will bring considerable insight and perspective to the Board.
“We would like to thank our outgoing Chair, Tom Bremner, once again for his service over the past 7 years, including the last three as Chair, and wish him well in his future endeavours.”
