TAROE Trust appoints Leslie Channon to support White Paper response

TAROE Trust has announced the appointment of Leslie Channon as its Public Affairs and Tenant Engagement Consultant, to support the charity to build and strengthen its links with tenants and tenant groups across England.

The appointment comes as the sector looks to respond to the Social Housing White Paper.

Leslie brings to the organisation a broad wealth of housing and tenant engagement experience. She is an active campaigner for tenants and was instrumental in setting up a series of ministerial roadshows to inform the Social Housing Green Paper in 2018-19. She is also a former Director of Tpas.

Darren Hartley, Chief Executive of TAROE Trust, stated: “It’s vital that our work is shaped by the issues that are important to tenants and residents. Leslie has worked with TAROE Trust on a number of issues in the past so this new relationship along with Leslie’s knowledge and expertise in this area will really strengthen the charity and extend our reach.”

Leslie Channon said: "TAROE will have a vital national role to play in the months and years to come. With the publication of the Social Housing White Paper, it is an exciting opportunity, and I am looking forward to supporting the growing influence and power of tenants’ voices."
