The objective of this qualification is to support those either in the role of, or aspiring to the role of, Responsible Person relating specifically to control of legionella on a site.

Level 3 Award in Legionella Control for Responsible Persons (Qualification) The qualification provides attendees with knowledge and understanding of:

  • The effects of legionella bacteria on the body
  • The impact an outbreak of Legionnaires’ disease would have on a working site
  • How to identify and control the risks associated with legionella bacteria
  • How legislation and codes of practice can support its control.

It is designed to reinforce the importance of the Responsible Person in respect of ensuring competence of all operatives on the site.

Please note: There is a mandatory £70 delegate fee for qualification paperwork and training materials – per each delegate.

Chris Brown Chris Brown

Chris Brown has spent ten years as Technical Consultant in the Industrial Water Treatment market and has been working as an Independent Water Hygiene Consultant since 2018.

Chris is a chemist by qualification and is an Elected Fellow of the Water Management Society. He served a four-year term as a committee member of the LCA and has had involvement in a number of Legionella cases. Chris is a contributor to BSRIA Legionella Risk Assessment Guide and is part of the LCA technical team for HSG 274 Part 1.
