This course is for everyone working in environments where legionella growth is a risk – it provides a good foundation to support people in their everyday work. It aims to raise the level of awareness in order to prevent waterborne disease caused by legionella bacteria.

Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Qualification) – one day course The qualification provides attendees with the knowledge and understanding of the health effects of Legionnaires’ disease, the control measures that should be in place to prevent it as well as the consequences for not complying with relevant legislation and codes of practice.

In addition, this qualification contains specialist units covering the risks associated with hot and cold water systems.

Please note: There is a mandatory £70 delegate fee for qualification paperwork and training materials – per each delegate.

Chris Brown has spent ten years as Technical Consultant in the Industrial Water Treatment market and has been working as an Independent Water Hygiene Consultant since 2018.

Chris is a chemist by qualification and is an Elected Fellow of the Water Management Society. He served a four-year term as a committee member of the LCA and has had involvement in a number of Legionella cases. Chris is a contributor to BSRIA Legionella Risk Assessment Guide and is part of the LCA technical team for HSG 274 Part 1.
