- Type HQN Event
- Venue London
- Start 10 Oct 2019 10:00
- End 10 Oct 2019 16:00
This year’s annual conference is fast approaching and it promises to be another thought-provoking and illuminating day.
Now’s the time to grab your places.
Always eagerly anticipated, this year’s will be another close look at what’s happening in the world of housing income management.
Practical positive practice case studies are always a popular feature and whether you work for a housing association, local authority or ALMO, we have plenty of those for you this year.
This year’s programme
The conference will be chaired by Matthew Pyke, Tenancy Sustainment Manager at Yarlington Housing Group.
Matt will lead the day and kick us off with a “state of the nation” overview of housing income management in 2019, from the perspective of the Digital Landlord of the Year.
Tansy Crowley-Sweet, Income and Residential Property Manager at whg will present a fresh look at income in her “more than a rent account” session.
Catherine Cunliffe, Income Manager at Lancaster City Council, will describe how her team has achieved its best arrears management performance in five years, whilst reducing court applications by 400%, resulting in being shortlisted for an award by the Association of Public Service Excellence.
We’re delighted to welcome Liam Carlisle, from Lewisham Credit Union. Liam will look at how partnerships between housing providers and credit unions can support households’ financial wellbeing but also reduce evictions and drive down rent arrears. With an innovative approach that has prevented over 300 evictions, Liam’s is a must-see presentation if you’re looking to build partnerships to sustain tenancies.
We’re also pleased to welcome Graham Brewis, Director of the financial wellbeing service, Clean Slate, to this year’s conference. Graham will take a look at what’s happening with UC from the perspective of front-line support and advice for people moving to the new benefit. We are familiar with the criticisms of UC but Graham brings his wealth of experience and knowledge to consider an important question that’s rarely asked… what’s right about UC?!
The conference will also feature break-out performance improvement workshops, giving a valuable opportunity for learning and networking.
We have even more planned, so watch out for further announcements about the programme.
Most importantly, if you want to be there, book now as places will go fast!
