    What will be covered:

    This year’s virtual Summit will feature keynote sessions, breakout forums plus plenty of time to discuss and debate.

    On the programme there’s a mix of topical sessions:

    Keynote sessions

    Building safety: The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors will provide an update on the latest issues with EWS1 forms – usage, principles and future thinking.

    Service charges: How will the proposed ‘Service Charges Charter’ for London impact on landlords and their service charging regime? And the potential ramifications should a national roll-out become likely.

    Commonhold: The British Property Federation will provide the latest insight and thinking on this tenure.

    Home sales and operations: How the latest safety issues are impacting on leasehold sales and the implications for operational teams.

    Leaseholder engagement: Informed thinking on the challenges of communicating effectively and ensuring inclusivity.

    Breakout sessions

    Shared ownership: An essential debate about the proposed new model of shared ownership.

    Debt and forfeiture: A breakout forum on the important subject of leasehold debt and forfeiture.

  • Our speakers

    Adrian Shaw, Head of Rent & Service Charge, L&Q

    Adrian joined L&Q in June 2021 where his responsibility covers rent and service charge administration and s20 consultation. He was previously Head of Service Charges at Clarion Housing Group and prior to that was Director of Commercial & Leasehold Services for Circle Housing Group. He is an Assoc RICS and MIRPM and is a Board member of the National Leasehold Group and chairs their service charge group.

     

    Ann Faulkner, Lead Associate of The Leasehold Network

    Ann Faulkner is a housing consultant specialising in homeownership and leasehold services. She set up her business in 2016 having enjoyed over 30 years with one of the country’s largest housing associations. Ann held senior roles across a number of disciplines including leasehold, homeownership and market rent, and now uses her extensive experience to provide consultancy services for all registered providers.

     

    Ian Fletcher, Director of Policy (Real Estate), British Property Federation

    Ian is Director of Policy at the BPF, and focuses on the Federation’s development and housing work. He was a member of the coalition Government’s Montague Review and is a long-term champion of the Build-to-Rent sector. He helped Government review the case for protecting client money and chaired the regulation of student accommodation. He was a member of the Smith Institute’s Affordable Housing Commission. Ian is an Honorary Fellow of the IRPM and Fellow of the RSA.

    Ian was formerly Head of Policy and Chief Economist at the British Chambers of Commerce. He has also worked in banking and teaching and holds professional qualifications in finance and market research. He is a married and has one sixteen-year-old son.

     

    Kirsty Skinner, Leasehold and Service Charge Manager, Coastline Housing

    Kirsty made the move into social housing 14 years ago. Having started in the Customer Services Team at Coastline, she focussed on the repairs side of customer service before moving into the Income Management Team in 2009 and specialising in leasehold and service charges from 2012. Kirsty and her team sit within Housing Services and have a wide remit, covering all post-sales management of leasehold, freehold, and shared ownership, alongside the full management of garages and tenure-blind service charge setting.

    Otherwise, a cancellation fee of £60 plus VAT will be chargeable.

    If you are using a package place to attend and do not inform us within the agreed time frame, then a place will be taken to cover your non-attendance.

    Cancellations must be made in writing, and will be acknowledged by HQN Limited.
