Off to a flyer 2019 – Effective pre-tenancy work to minimise rent arrears and ensure successful tenancies
- Type HQN Event
- Venue York
- Start 27 Nov 2019 10:00
- End 27 Nov 2019 16:00
We all know that effective engagement with prospective tenants represents the ideal opportunity to establish a platform for a successful tenancy.
This practical seminar, chaired by HQN Associate and RIEN Lead, Tony Newman, will help you to take a fresh look at your pre-tenancy work and put positive measures in place to boost rent collection, minimise arrears and support households.
With the Homelessness Reduction Act and the expansion of Universal Credit, now is the time to revisit your pre-tenancy work and make sure that you’re geared up for the future.
Themes for the day
Off to a flyer will help you to identify and implement improvements to your pre-tenancy work, including:
- Identifying potential tenants' risk and support needs
- Helping tenants to be ready to move in
- Minimising early tenancy rent loss and arrears
- Gathering and using customer and household profiling data to enable targeted action
- Establishing a payment culture amongst new tenants
- Working effectively with partner agencies.
In addition to Tony’s knowledge and experience, we’ll have positive practice case studies from Curo and Nottingham City Homes, who will share the latest on their innovative and effective pre-tenancy work.
The knowledge-sharing workshop will provide a further chance to dig deeper into best practice and equip you with a host of ideas and practical tips.
Who should attend?
Whether you’re a local authority or housing provider, this seminar is ideal for anyone involved in rent collection, arrears management, housing-related support, lettings and allocations and generic housing management.
This event is also taking place in London.
