The machines will replace us, right? (Level 1 – introductory)
There is a lot of noise about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how its simultaneously the saviour and doom of mankind. This introductory session (level 1) explains in simple terms the potential that AI has for the world and why it is something that you must be aware of and understand.
What will be covered?
You’ll be taken through the basics of what AI, Machine Learning (ML) and a Virtual Assistant (VA) are, as well as where and how these technologies are being used in the world around you. The session will then cover the key things you need to understand about the technology, dispel myths, cut through hype and highlight where and how it is already being used in social housing today.
Why should you attend?
This introductory session explains what is perhaps one of the most important technologies of the 21st century. AI has the potential to completely transform the world around us - will it elevate or will it destroy us? Whilst the session won’t provide answers to such an existential question, it will touch on the ethics of AI.
You’ll recognise that a world where machines can think for themselves and where they can interact seamlessly with humans has enormous implications, as well as potential benefits for social housing.
What will you take away from this session?
- Gain a basic understanding of the technologies that are available
- Learn how to recognise the difference between AI and ML
- Understand what capabilities exist, recognise hype vs reality and
- Gain a grasp of what these technologies are delivering and more importantly their potential for your organisation.
A world that includes AI, ML and VAs is a completely transformed world and it’s approaching faster than we can imagine. If you don’t want to be left behind this introductory session is essential for everyone, both junior and senior staff, working in social housing.
