Monmouthshire Housing Association (MHA) is a high performing organisation, whose main purpose is to provide and manage affordable homes in Monmouthshire for people who need them. The Association manages and maintains 3,600 rented homes and 270 leasehold properties, as well as a large number of garages and other land within and around our estates.
To contribute to Welsh Government’s commitment to build 20,000 new homes, MHA has a challenging 5-year development programme to build a minimum of 600 new homes. The programme includes homes for rent, low cost home ownership and open market sales.
We have a dedicated development team of six, whom, with the support of external professionals, are responsible for delivering the new homes development programme which includes S.106 Affordable allocations, Rural Exception sites, Social Housing and Private Housing for Sale.
We are now seeking an experienced Development Manager to manage part of the team and drive the programme forward. The role will report direct to the Head of Development.
£39,750 (new employees will be appointed onto 95% or 100% of this depending on experience until successful completion of probation)
You should be technically competent, with knowledge of modern methods of construction, have experience of managing the client side functions of delivering new residential developments and have excellent skills in negotiating and procuring land for development.
Current knowledge and experience of the whole development process from acquisition to completion is essential, to include construction management, and knowledge of Welsh Government grant funding processes and public procurement requirements would be desirable.
