'Dads Can' Development Worker

Monmouthshire Housing Association's main purpose is to provide and manage affordable homes in Monmouthshire for people who need them. The Association manages and maintains around 3,600 homes and 290 leasehold properties, as well as large numbers of garages and other land around and within our estates.
We are currently recruiting for a 'Dads Can' Development Worker within the Lottery Funded Dads Can Project, Fixed Term until February 2019.
You will work with the team to provide individual emotional and practical support, enabling dads to manage the transition into fatherhood, providing advice and guidance around parenting, crisis management, and positive relationships and supporting them to build their life skills towards becoming more resilient individuals.
You will provide support for dads in a one to one or group setting as needs arise, coaching and mentoring them to set aims and objectives that will help them achieve their goals in life.
You will develop best practice models of how to work with dads experiencing one or more challenging situations in their life, using lessons learned to influence policy and practice among service providers, local authority departments and agencies
We are seeking a personable, motivated individual with strong networking skills. Must have experience of working with vulnerable men from diverse backgrounds, managing complex caseloads and delivering high quality support which achieve the best outcome for the father and their family.
You will need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
The post is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Check.
