Working with sex offenders

An introductory course looking at what a sex offender is, and how to work effectively with them. Delegates will also have the opportunity to examine prejudices and how to work with these.

Course content:

  • An overview of working with sex offenders
  • An understanding of sex offender registration
  • Registered sex offender management
  • Assumptions in behaviour of a registered sex offender
  • An overview of the probation service role and the police response to sex offenders
  • The cycle of offending.

Learning will be supported by case scenarios, group working and discussion.

Who should attend?

All frontline staff, team leaders and managers providing services which might be used by those with a history of sex offending.

Our trainer

Lisa Redwood has over 20 years’ experience working within the health and social care sector with a wide range of client groups. She has worked with ex-offenders both in the prison and community settings. For 12 years she managed supported housing services for high-risk offenders.

Working with sex offenders

Cancellations and substitutions:

A full refund will be given if a cancellation is made 28 calendar days or more prior to the event, and a 50% refund if a cancellation is made 15-27 calendar days prior to the event. We regret that no refund can be given if a cancellation is made 14 calendar days or less before the event.

Cancellations must be made in writing, and will be acknowledged by HQN Limited.
