Best practice groups

Held regularly, our best practice groups present you with a superb opportunity to meet with other members and discuss topical issues. One of the most valued aspects of HQN network membership, access to our best practice groups is FREE to members.

  1. Leasehold Network virtual best practice group: The leasehold business – what will the new norm look like?

    Details

Lock-down conditions have placed a massive strain on your budget. Now, more than ever, leasehold teams will need to wear their business hats.

But how can you maximise income without profiteering?  How do you minimise costs without becoming cost inefficient? What will the new normal look like after lock-down is removed and services resume?

Join the online discussion and debate with fellow Leasehold professionals and facilitator Ann Faulkner.

  3. Climate change virtual best practice group

    Details

The Climate Change Group has announced its first best practice groups. These events will provide attendees the chance to network and share best practice while discussing a topical issue.

Man-made global warming represents one of the greatest threats our species and planet have ever faced.

With over four million homes, the social housing sector’s responsibility AND opportunity to reduce emissions is enormous.

Our climate best practice groups are aimed at bringing social landlords together to discuss the key issues: decarbonisation; ecology; retrofitting; green energy, renewables; policy and strategy.

How can we hit net-zero? How can we protect our properties from the effects of a changing climate? How do we build homes fit for the future?

Our climate change best practice groups will probe all these vital topics, and more.

    Details

Lockdown coincided with the financial year end. Service charge holidays, leaseholders in financial trouble, new invoices going unpaid, arrears mounting, budget headaches to name but a few challenges.

Not to mention some non-essential and even essential services having to be halted due to lock-down.

Will we get back to "business as usual"? How can we manage the backlog of operational work? Will people renege on paying service charges if services haven't been delivered?

Join the online discussion and debate with fellow Leasehold professionals and facilitator John Gargan.

Contact centre technology – communicating quickly with those that need it most

    Details

In these extraordinary times providing essential tenant services is increasingly difficult. Operating effective and efficient tenant communications and frontline management services to cope with increased demand is challenging.

Join Amazon Web Services and Arcus Global to hear about three key services that may benefit your organisation:

    1. Automated calls to at risk customers to find out who needs help – call all your at risk and vulnerable customers on a daily basis and identify at speed who requires help.
    2. Automated 24/7 deflection and triage of calls – are answered without the need for staff to answer the phone.
    3. Ability for your call centre agents to answer calls from home – avoiding public transport, keeping a safe distance, or self-isolating.

    How?

Arcus Global can set up your staff so they can answer calls from home/any location with just a headset and web browser. Just an email address is required. You divert your existing telephone line to our UK number allowing you to stay in control of where and when you use our service, no SIP trunking required. All calls can also be recorded by default. Call automation uses AI based (Amazon Alexa) text to voice technology with a realistic voice, no need to pre-record any announcements.

The second hub meeting of 2020 will focus on Management Development Programmes, and we're pleased to be able to welcome Cobalt Housing to tell us about their programme.
